Get to Know Me

These testimonials come from clients, students, and colleagues who have experienced my work firsthand.

Over the past ten years, my work as a coach, acting teacher, and guest speaker has spanned numerous programs that I’ve created and taught.

My hope is that this page gives you insight into who I am, how I coach, what you’ll learn, and the values I hold as both a professional and a person.

"As this year comes to an end I reflected recently on what interesting things I did this passing year and how thankful I am to know you.

You’ve helped me make a leap forward in my acting career with your spot on advice and nurturing approach.

A simple 'thank you' is not enough, but since I am not sure when exactly I'll be visiting L.A. from Poland, until then it'll have to do, so Thank You so much."

Pawel Roman, Actor (Warsaw, Poland)

"As an actor living in the Pacific Northwest, I've always been tempted by the lures of New York City and Los Angeles.

Having worked with Camille in the past, I contacted her to help me with the decision.

Camille's coaching calls have guided me through the process of preparing for my move

and have helped me establish the business tools I need to be a working actor in L.A.

It's been amazing to work with her.”

Wanda Moats, Actor (Seattle, Washington)

"A concrete result I have felt from coaching with Camille is her sense of genuine care.

Her experience as an actor in an industry that can feel very lonely is expressed in every online meeting I have attended.

The accountability is baked into the co-working sessions and group coaching sessions.

Before I joined "SLA Community" I felt very disconnected from the acting community.

My work as an actor was very sparse.

I had given up on considering myself an actor at all and was identifying myself as a voiceover actor and writer.

During the coaching sessions, I was encouraged by hearing everyone's experiences.

The group was representative of people in different phases of their acting journey.

When Camille encourages everyone with words of upliftment, it makes such a difference in changing my perspective.

I can tell that she is always working to keep each person engaged in their own success.

It feels really good to be reminded that success looks different for everyone.

An example of when Camille helped me was after we heard an agent speak to the group.

I had thought about reaching out for representation but I wasn't sure.

Not only did she send me an email suggesting that I submit, but she also helped me craft an email to the agent.

And, the agent said yes!
Camille has put me immediately at ease with both kindness and professionalism

Now, I feel more empowered and supported as an actor.

The nature of this work is volatile.

You never know where your next opportunity will materialize.

With Camille as my coach, it feels like someone is on your side.

That makes this work a lot more bearable."

Minka Wiltz, Actor (Indianapolis, Indiana)

"Working with Camille has been such a wonderful and insightful journey.

Camille always offers empathetic feedback during coaching sessions, assists each actor in setting specific goals, and helps keep everyone accountable.

A big goal of mine was to learn more about actor marketing strategies and how to further my connections with Industry folks.

Camille gave me amazing guidance and tangible tools to be able to build relationships, while not even living in L.A."

Mack Bayda, Actor (Nashville, Tennessee)

"Working with Camille, I have defined my ideal relationship with my agent and then worked to create it.

Our process has made outreach effortless and empowered me to feel confident about my relationship with my reps. I've always wanted to be an actor who's comfortable reaching out and has a chatty, personal relationship with my agent and now I am so grateful that I do!"

Ellen, Actor (Los Angeles, CA)

"The greatest challenge of Hollywood is that there are no blueprints...until now.

Having Camille on my side has been invaluable.

She's always there for you, helping you to demystify this industry."

Peyton, Actor (Los Angeles, CA)

"I wouldn’t have found success in the entertainment industry without Camille.

But to rewind back, in my first coaching with Camille, we talked about where I was at in my career.

I told her I had been doing a lot of auditions from Actors Access and going on a lot of student film auditions, booking a fair amount and how my first feature had just been released.

But I was a little lost on what the next step might be in such an overwhelming industry.

To that she said, “that’s awesome! Now… it’s time for you to get representation!”

I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but through her coaching and accountability in the Community, I got my acting reel done, put together my agent and manager list and started reaching out.

Through her advice and encouragement, I found the perseverance to keep trying and and not give up on finding representation.

I now have a manager and everything in my acting career has up-leveled, including auditions.

Again, I wouldn’t have had the success that I have had without Camille."

Alex, Actor (Los Angeles, CA)

"I moved to L.A. from a tiny island off the coast of Scotland to study acting.

I love it here but it’s a completely different world!

I worked with Camille specifically on my reel.

It was an amazing experience, where I got specific notes and really understood what kind of character would help me to showcase myself.

I also loved meeting the other actors that were a part of the community."

Eilidh Fisher, Actor (Stronsay, Scotland)

"As I was starting to get ready to graduate I kept getting overwhelmed.

I didn't know where to begin or how to transition from school to the actual pursuit of a professional Actor in Los Angeles.

After attending the Speak LA seminar, I felt relieved and overcame anxiety about the business."

Rosney Mauger, Actor (Los Angeles, California)

"I owe so much to Camille.

She's forever changed the way I approach acting and performance in general. She's genuine and kind, but at the same time not afraid to tell you that you suck and need to go back to the beginning. There's no half-asking or bullshitting in her class. She can tell when you don't know your shit. Hands down the best acting teacher I've ever had."

Neema Muteti, Actor (BFA School of Musical Theatre, USC)

"Camille Thornton-Alson is the best-kept secret in Hollywood.
Her training is a unique and necessary experience for anyone looking to elevate their skill level as an actor.
Her Script Analysis class has been paramount in helping me learn how to attack a script and derive character from it, whether I’ve been given a whole play, screenplay, or only a couple pages of audition sides to work with.
She helped take me through all the stages of preparation, and while she provides a safe and nurturing space within which to work, she pushed me to stretch the limits of what I thought I was capable of.
She helped me to see that there is no ‘right’ answer, but rather directed me to find the truth in the words and in my characters.
I am by far a better, more confident performer after having trained with Camille than I could have hoped to be before. Anyone who is looking to gain a solid foundation in script analysis, wants to learn how to go deeper into developing character, and generally has the desire to unleash their creative potential should absolutely start training with Camille."

Taryn Pearce, Actor (Los Angeles, California)

"I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of acting and how to communicate best with actors.

Camille helped me dive into the craft by teaching me proper technique and a deeper understanding of character work.

By getting me to change sides and letting me experience acting first-hand I gained a deeper understanding of how to better communicate with actors. Not only is it easier to get direction “on the same page”, my approach on working with actors has become a far more creative process."

Martina Ziesack. TV Director & Producer, SRF Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (Swiss National Television)

"To have you as a professor is amazing.

You truly care for us (your students). Care for our talents, but most importantly our overall well-being.

You push us to be better, but not too much to where we feel we hate what we're doing and want to quit.

And you also don't hold out hands through the whole process as if we're babies.

You have amazing balance in your teachings."

Nuk Moore, Actor (BA School of Drama, USC)
